Is AI a Curse or Bliss !

We know how much AI has evolved and how it is ruling the retail and e-commerce marketing sphere! Or we can say it more precisely that it is a technology that is revolutionizing the shape of our future! Like every coin has two sides, similarly every aspect has its success and failures and the Artificial Intelligence is no exception. lets give you an insight on how AI turns as a bliss for Business and why it's called a curse for Human race:

  1. The impact on Employment
As we know, AI is finding its way for the acceptance and adoption in the real world, especially in the retail and e-commerce industry, but at the same time, it is also replacing humans in the workforce, leading to mass unemployment. The half world is entering into a phase of technological revolution, while the other half is still sticking its development with human workforce. Similarly, Amazon, has recently introduced the world's most advanced shopping technology, which has grabbed all the eye-balls with its introduction of 'Cashier-free stores'; even though, the automation of stores, especially at the checkout counter, helps diminish billing lines, reduce employee costs, but for a developing as well as highly populated country like India, is anxious about the thought of integrating such revolutionizing technology with its development, as it may replace employers for better work proficiency but may also create an inevitable unemployment crisis. According to a statistics survey, 55% of the world population is wondering about the changing scope of human jobs when every single thing will be automated.
  2. The scope of investment in AI
Retailers are rethinking the ways to boost performance and improvise customer experience by investing more into the transforming technology like AI, while countries like US as compared to China, lacks the government support. Even the majority of the investors are coming from the private sectors, however, they hesitate to invest on the long-term research and possibilities in AI, rather prefer to make their investment in result oriented short-term AI projects. Thus, that's why we are still holding back with the existing automation revolution, rather than taking a big deep leap into the algorithms. While it also faces investing issues as being highly-priced, many business organization fails to implement AI automation systems at their organization. Thus, it make AI services limited to few people and to few organizations.
  3. Software Malfunction
From self-driving cars to facial recognition, AI is literally revolutionizing our way of life, but do you know that AI is not flawless; just like a human, no machine is perfect! A few incidents related to AI had made breaking headlines in 2017, like Facebook chatbots shut down after developing their own language, Waymo's self-driving van involved in an accident, Amazon's Alexa randomly blast music and so many more. However, when the flaws are made by automated machines, it is difficult to point a figure, where as the tasks performed by humans can be easily traced and trackable.
  4. AI is having a limitation as well
Not every task can be replaced by a automation machine, some tasks need human touch and assistance. AI was originally invented as a tool to increase the productivity of a task, while let you do more productive tasks in the same small span of time. In short, in was meant to make us Superman, rather than creating an unemployment crisis! Like an AI can make HR management seamless by auto handling repetitive recruiting tasks, but it isn't smart enough to perform creative works.

Just like a human is not perfect, similarly AI has their own pros and cons to ponder! Even though it has its failure and success in the back few years, yet in the future, we will see ourselves walking, talking and living among the Artificial Intelligent Robots! Get ready for an era of AI!
